Skin Boosters 水光针 are made from a natural hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance widely distributed in the human body, including the skin, connective tissues and nerves. By providing support to the matrix of the skin, facilitating the passage of nutrients across the skin and hydrating the skin, hyaluronic acid is an essential component of skin.
We lose about 1% of our hyaluronic acid per year from age 28. When the skin is exposed to ultra violet rays, there is damage to skin cells and an increased break down of hyaluronic acid, resulting in skin damage, dehydration and defective skin repair. Topical creams containing hyaluronic acid molecules are too large to penetrate the skin, thus treatments are more effective and long-lasting.

The initial programme consists of 3 treatments at 2-4 weekly intervals. The initial phase is recommended to optimise the skin’s concentration of hyaluronic acid. Thereafter, a maintenance session every 6-12 months is essential to keep your skin youthful, radiant and supple.
Restylane® SKINBOOSTERS™ contains lidocaine, a local anesthetic that reduces most of the discomfort. In addition, we usually apply a topical anaesthetic cream on the skin surface before the treatment to optimize your comfort.
After the treatment you might experience some discomfort such as redness, swelling, pain, itching, bruising and tenderness at the treatment site. The described discomfort is the side effect expected after a treatment. They are usually mild and disappear after a few days to one week. Your healthcare practitioner will give you advice on how to take care of your skin after the treatment. Typically, they will advise you that you can go back to work directly, but avoid applying makeup the first 48 hours after treatment.
